These Terms of Use apply to the Open Gates Association website. By accessing or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The site provides public information about OGA, its Roadmap, programs, ways to participate, and verified donation destinations.
2. Informational service
Website content is provided for general informational purposes. It is not legal, tax, medical, financial, adoption, immigration, safeguarding, or other professional advice. The site is not an emergency or case-intake service and does not promise that any program, placement, evacuation, benefit, or service is available to a particular person.
3. Ask Open Gates AI
Ask Open Gates AI is an automated assistant, not an OGA employee or professional adviser. It is designed to summarize approved public OGA information and provide relevant links, but an answer can be incomplete, delayed, or incorrect. Verify important information on the linked OGA page or by emailing OGA.
Do not submit card details, banking passwords, medical records, government identifiers, confidential case information, or sensitive information about a child or beneficiary.
4. Donations and hosted providers
For ordinary online donations, OGA's server validates the selected campaign, amount, and one-time or monthly selection, creates a Stripe Checkout Session, and redirects the donor to Stripe-hosted Checkout. A monthly contribution charges the selected amount when it begins and automatically every month until canceled. Donors can manage or cancel future monthly charges through Stripe's secure Customer Portal. PayPal is available as an alternative. DAF Direct may be used for donor-advised-fund gifts, and OGA may use Donorbox for designated peer-to-peer, member, or participant fundraising. Payment-card data is entered on the provider's hosted checkout and does not pass through the OGA website. A provider's confirmation or receipt is the authoritative record of a transaction.
Stripe may email a payment receipt to the address collected during hosted checkout, including after each successful monthly payment. OGA may send separate donor communications or charitable acknowledgments when appropriate; the availability or tax effect of a receipt is not guaranteed by this website.
Nothing on this website guarantees a particular tax treatment. Donors should consult their own tax adviser when needed.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not interfere with, overload, probe, reverse engineer, or attempt unauthorized access to the website or its systems.
- Do not use the site or AI assistant to submit unlawful, abusive, deceptive, malicious, or privacy-invasive content.
- Do not upload a greeting that infringes another person's rights or includes payment details, medical records, unlawful material, or private information about a child.
- Do not impersonate another person, misrepresent an affiliation with OGA, or use OGA content or marks to solicit funds without authorization.
- Do not use automated means to extract or reproduce substantial portions of the site except as permitted by law or written authorization.
6. Content and intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the website's text, design, branding, graphics, photographs, and videos are owned by OGA or used with permission. You may view and share links for personal, informational, and noncommercial purposes. Other reproduction, modification, fundraising use, or distribution requires permission from the applicable rights holder.
7. Third-party links
Links and embeds are provided for convenience and context. OGA does not control every third-party service and is not responsible for its availability, content, security, or practices. A link does not necessarily imply endorsement beyond the relationship expressly described on the OGA site.
8. Availability and limitation
The website is provided on an 'as available' basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, OGA disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the website, reliance on automated answers, or use of third-party services. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Changes and contact
