Accessibility Statement

Information should be open to everyone.

OGA is working to make its website and public information usable by people with a wide range of abilities, technologies, and access needs.

Current website policy

OGA aims to align the website with WCAG 2.2 Level AA principles and welcomes specific accessibility feedback by email.

Effective and last updated: August 16, 2026

1. Our commitment

Open Gates Association is committed to providing equitable access to its mission, programs, donation information, and public resources. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing part of design, content, and technical maintenance rather than a one-time claim of perfect conformance.

2. Measures used on this website

  • Semantic headings, landmarks, labels, and link text intended to support assistive technology.
  • Keyboard-operable navigation, dialogs, controls, and visible focus indicators.
  • Responsive layouts, scalable text, reduced-motion support, and color-contrast review.
  • Alternative text for meaningful images and titles for embedded media.
  • Clear contact routes when automated or third-party content is not usable.

3. Accessibility target

OGA uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as its technical target where reasonably applicable. This statement does not represent that every page, document, video, or third-party service has been independently certified.

4. Known limitations

Some embedded videos, historical media, downloadable documents, and external donation-provider pages may have accessibility features controlled by third parties. OGA continues to review captions, transcripts, focus behavior, and document accessibility as content is updated.

Ask Open Gates AI is an additional way to find information, not the only way. Core organization, Roadmap, program, contact, donation, and policy information remains available as standard web content.

5. Request assistance or report a barrier

Email info@opengatesassn.org and identify the page, the task you were trying to complete, the barrier encountered, and any assistive technology or browser details you are comfortable sharing. OGA will review the request and work toward an accessible alternative where reasonably possible.

6. Ongoing assessment

OGA reviews accessibility through automated checks, keyboard testing, responsive testing, and manual inspection during website development. The statement will be updated as the site and its content evolve.
